The Maryland Aviation Administration in partnership with the Maryland Art Education Association has sponsored an exciting opportunity for school systems in Maryland to participate in a student art exhibit in the Youth Art Gallery at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The exhibit of 24 artworks features paintings and drawings from elementary students in grades Pre Kindergarten through Grade 5. The display highlights the high quality of art education in elementary schools throughout the state of Maryland.  Public schools systems who participated are:  Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Calvert County, Carroll County, Howard County, Prince Georges County, and St. Mary’s County.

     The gallery is located on the upper level of the domestic terminal, within the children’s play area of the Observation Gallery. The gallery has 24 frames and has rotating schedule of exhibits.

     The exhibit was installed in June 2007 and will remain there until December 2007.  Students will receive a certificate of recognition and will be invited to visit the exhibit to see their artwork on display at a reception in the fall of 2007.
