Empty Bowls Dinner
to benefit
Beans & Bread Center
and
Sarah’s Hope Outreach
Artists needed for donations of handmade ceramic bowls and serving pieces
The Beans & Bread Center and Sarah’s Hope Outreach offer support and hope to people who are poor, homeless, and hungry. Every day approximately 400 individuals visit these facilities for the help they need in their daily struggle for survival. Beans & Bread and Sarah’s Hope are both programs of St. Vincent de Paul Baltimore
An important source of funding for both programs is our yearly fundraiser. This year, we are launching an exciting new event, The Empty Bowls Dinner. Artists and students create ceramic bowls. Restaurants donate soup and bread. Guests are invited to a simple soup and bread supper. They choose a bowl to use that day and to keep as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. This year, the Empty Bowls Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 4-7 pm at Notre Dame Prep High School.
We are currently seeking donations of first-quality, handmade pottery bowls from artists, high school classes and college students. Specifically, we are requesting soup or cereal size bowls that are glazed and fired to be able to use for serving food. Our goal is to gather 800-900 bowls for this event. We are also requesting a few larger size pieces such as serving bowls or platters to be donated for a Silent Auction, which will be held at the dinner.
